The appointment itself was great, but upon exiting Dr. Azad communicated to the receptionist to provide me with a price sheet for a night guard and a permanent retainer. The receptionist asked if she could email it to me last in the day and I obliged. It's been 2 weeks since my appointment and I still haven't gotten the price sheet.

Everyone I have experienced there, dentists and hygienists, have been very technically skilled. Procedures and cleanings have been as comfortable as I have ever experienced. It's still dentistry.

However, at times I have felt pressured into additional procedures (not always covered by my insurance) with little to no explanation which makes it hard to trust their recommendations at times.

Had a really great experience here. Dr Azad gave me some extra care to put a crown on my broken tooth with old old filling.

SPEAKING OF THE OFFICE it's so cute and clean. There's coffee and drinks available, and it's in a high rise so the view outside while getting your teeth done is really something to admire.

The receptionists was great and she was very clear and kind about explaining the co-pay amounts, insurance coverage, etc.

Usually my experience with Dental Aesthetica is top notch. That's why I commute to SF for this specific dental office. I used to see Leila Azad but my last two visits were with a new dentist. I'm not sure if this dentist is new to the industry or just not as experienced but some things did not go so smoothly. I went in for a deep cleaning. The numbing gel was supposed to numb my mouth so that I would not feel the needles but the gel was not properly applied so my mouth was not fully numb and I felt every single one of the needles (very painful, caused my eyes to tear). Additionally, the anesthesia was not properly applied because the entire back of my mouth was not numb. I had to point this out to the dentist before she began the cleaning. Still, I could feel almost everything that was done to the back of my mouth during the cleaning. Also, at one point the dental assistant was holding the straw so far back that I felt like I was going to choke on it (during the cleaning) and other times I would have so much saliva/water build up but the straw was not used so I had to figure out how to swallow without actually swallowing anything harmful. Now a day after the cleaning, I feel pain around the areas where the needles where injected (as if bruised) and I have a major headache. I don't remember this happening for the last deep cleaning I had with Leila Azad. Would no longer recommend Dental Aesthetica unless you see Leila Azad.

I appreciate their willingness to work with me on payment for services not covered by my insurance. I do think it could be made a little clearer about whether or not those items and services NOT covered are actually necessary or just recommended. It felt a bit like upselling, but I'll just be sure in the future to clarify myself. All in all, a very good experience and as much as it's possible to look forward to going to the dentist, I'm happy to have found Dental Aesthetica.

Kathy was professional, efficient and thorough. I prefer Kathy over all other dental hygienists in the office because she does a very good job cleaning my teeth and I trust that all the plaque and build-up have been scrapped away. There was a catch from a filling he put in earlier in the year and he was able to quickly sand it down even though I was only there for a cleaning. Amazing Patient service.

Cleaning was fine. When I tried to leave I went to pay my co-pay. The person checking me out spent several minutes in the computer and then said I didn't need to pay anything. Are you sure, I said. After several more minutes on the computer, he said I didn't need to pay anything.

Now a bill arrives for my co-pay. This is so annoying! You've created a chore for me instead of taking care of it right there. Seems like a simple question in office: do I have a co-pay or not?

The work I had done was smooth and almost painless. My issue is with Max at the front desk. I asked him to explain the payments I was being asked to make because I got a very different statement from my insurance company. He got irritated very quickly even though it's obviously his job to answer these questions. I was polite and didn't understand his frustration. After pointing out that I was merely trying to understand the billing system because dentist visits aren't cheap, he changed his attitude. It still left a bad taste in my mouth. I was already nervous about the procedure I was about to have, and a more positive attitude from him would have been appreciated. Every other experience I've had here has been wonderful. Dulce is always polite and ready to answer any questions I have.

I moved to SF and recently chose to visit Dr. Azad as have had braces and needed a dentist in general. On my first visit I posted a review (on ZocDoc) that while the service seemed good, I was frustrated by the admin process beforehand and the wait in the office. Soon after I left my feedback, I was contacted to say they had updated their onboarding process. As well as that, each visit (I've been back three times) has been punctual, friendly and with the highest service. Dr. Azad has been excellent talking through my options for dental treatment and follow-ups on my orthodontic work. I highly recommend this practice.

She was thourough in explaining my results and very patient in answering my questions. So many dentists make no effort, but not so here. This is a dentist I will return too.

I waited 15 minutes before I was seated in the patient room, without an explanation or apology. After I was seated I waited another 15 minutes before the doctor came in. Then she numbed my mouth and said it would take 10 minutes to work and that she would be back. She returned 15 minutes later and started the procedure. Everything else was fine. The only other thing I thought was rude was that after she sneezed she had a audibly loud runny nose. I would have appreciated if she would have excused herself to blow her nose and return, rather than repeatedly suck it up her nostrils.

I had a great experience with the staff and would definitely recommend them. One thing to point out though is that the x ray process was the worst I've experienced. The girl who did it was great, but whoever thought that cramming a wired device covered in a plastic bag with hard plastic on the end was a good design should try a different career. That thing needs to be wireless with a disposable sleeve. I literally almost vomited on the device.

They noticed my anxiety and were quick to help me with whatever I needed to feel less anxious. Best dentist I've had so far. The office is clean and conveniently located in the financial district near Bart/muni. Leila and staff are super nice and the equipment they use is state of the art. Oh, and of course then there is the view from her office which is absolutely amazing, you get a nice view if Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and the beautiful bay while you are getting your teeth done. My allegiance is to Dr. Ogawa and when he is no longer practicing at your office, I will look else where and hope my x- rays will be available to me as I paid a lot of money for them and they will be useless for you, Please let Dr. Ogawa see this evaluation as we spoke on the phone the same evening of my appointment.

Dr. Bayat and staff took me in immediately when I had a toothache.

After a few quick xrays, they determined that I had to have a root canal. They took care of me on the spot. It was about 2 hours of work in the chair. They told me I'd be sore and even called to check on me later that day. The work was so good that I can barely tell I had a root canal 24 hours later. AMAZING.

These are the people that you want to see for all your dental needs.

I loved going to my appointment with Dr. Angela Bayat DDS, a fellow Francophile, like my husband Steve. But I found the receptionist/business manager confusing, because I wasn't sure what was due at the end of the visit, and what insurance they take.

Good dentistry is hard to find, and Dr. Bayat DDS and Dr. Ogawa DDS have a beautiful office, and impeccable credentials, so I will be seeing them very soon, again.

All their office locations are wonderful. What a great view of the San Francisco Bay.

Dr. Bayat made an appointment for me at the last minute based on a complaint of increasing pain in one my teeth. The pain was getting so bad that I practically considered it an emergency visit. Came in at 11 a.m. and by 3 p.m., my tooth and mouth almost felt normal. Stilll need a root canal but at least I don't have that pain.

Stressful to go through process of getting crown but I trust Dr. Ogawa and wanted to get the work done asap. Last night my mouth started bleeding a lot and I got scared so my husband called your office phone number around midnight. The call service said we would get a call back soon. We didn't get a call back until close to 8 a.m. Luckily my bleeding stopped a little after we called so it was ok. I was not happy about no call back and the questions I got about payment after Dr. Ogawa gave me anesthesia to start fixing the problem. It made my stress level go up. Dr. Ogawa is great but I didnt' like the treatment of the admin staff after I've been coming here w/ insurance for over 18+ years.

Office need to figure out what I need to pay and tell me upfront or tell me that the insurance company may not cover what you are representing, so at least I have that understanding. I have problem teeth. Route canals, overcrowding, multiple extractions, braces for five years. So I'm very familiar with the dentist office. The experience at La Beaute is unlike any other. From the modern decor, friendly staff, the amazing view of North Beach and getting to listen to your own Pandora Station while you're getting a teeth cleaning, it can't get any better! La Beaute is seriously state-of-the art and keeps up to date w/ all dental trends/developments. I have a crown where if anything bad happens I will need a specialist to fix it. I know I'm in good hands with Dr. Ogawa & Dr. Bayat. With top-notch dentists amidst stylish decor, La Beaute cannot be beat!

I've been Tom's patient for over thirty years (we are OLD!!!) but, due to health problems, I can no longer go to the S.F. office. After talking with Dr. Bayat on the phone and telling her about a recent accident I had which included falling on my face, she told me that I needed to have my teeth x-rayed immediately to be sure that there was no nerve damage. When I explained that I was unable to drive because of the accident, I was informed that Jamie would pick me up--I've never heard of a dentist (or any other doctor) with such an arrangement. I was able to get a next day appointment. Although I will miss Tom and Kathy, I will continue to see Dr. Bayat and her staff at the Orinda office. I was so pleased with the entire process and also grateful that my teeth were okay. So, Tom, I'm in good hands--now go out and do some more fishing... Velma Gladhill

I have been going to see Dr. Thomas Ogawa for many years now (so many I have actually forgotten how many), and all I can say about him is that he is one of the nicest dentists I have ever met. He takes the time to fully explain every procedure he does and answers all questions asked. His dental procedures are expertly done and I have complete confidence in him to get the job done.

I would heartily recommend him to anyone that is in need of any dental services. His staff are also all so nice and very helpful. I couldn't ask for a better team of professionals to help me whenever I have to go in to have any kind of dental work done. Also, Cathy the Hygienist, who cleans my teeth every 6 months, does such a good job of keeping my teeth in tip-top shape. (She even lets me listen to my walkman while she works, as does Dr. Ogawa also.)

After having a horrible dental experience when I was growing up, I thought I would always hate going to the dentist. But thanks to Dr. Ogawa, and his professional and friendly demeanor, he has changed how I feel about dentists overall. And that was no easy feat.

So all in all, I must say that my visits to Dr. Ogawa's office are pleasant ones and I enjoy chatting with him and the staff before and after my dental work is completed.

I have been to multiple dentists due to moving around a lot, and La Beaute is absolutely hands down the best dentist experience I've ever had. The whole staff is extremely friendly and the office has magnificent views of the Bay. Dr. Ogawa was so thorough and took the time to educate me on why flossing etc. was so important, while in the past other doctors have just told me to floss. I had a very positive experience and feel lucky to call Dr. Ogawa my dentist. Kamelia is also really wonderful at the front of the office! So happy with my new dentist!

I was not going to have Dr. Bayat do my tooth implant because the office staff told me that it would cost between $5,000 and $6,000., which seemed excessive to me. They also said my insurance would not cover any of it. When Dr. Bayat found out, she had them do a detailed accounting of the cost. She also had them check with my insurance company. As it turns out, my insurance covers a significant portion, and my share is about half and it includes almost everything. I like Dr. Bayat as she is a down-to-earth caring dentist,so she has started the course of treatment for the implant.

Dr Bayat and her support staff are really good at what they do. They ensure that your appointment goes smoothly. The system sends out timely reminders, then they call to remind you about the appointment, play music on Pandora while you wait for your turn, have your chairs turned to one of the best views in the city, and keep you engaged while doing the cleaning. Can't ask for anything more. Highly recommended.

I can't comment on the prices, as most of our expense was covered by the insurance.

Thank you for the excellent treatment. Office staff was very friendly and helpful as far as understanding insurance procedures. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained, and I particularly appreciated the high-tech equipment (digital xrays, supersonic water pic etc.) Dr. Bayat was very thorough in the cleaning procedure. She was also extremely knowledgeable--giving me feedback on the health of my mouth, tips for better care and the medical explanation behind her advice. She was also very friendly, making the entire experience enjoyable!
